Just Another Day in Fashion Public Relations ? As we lead into the all important New York Fall'98 Fashion show season we want our users to get a "sense" as to what kind of work is going on in preparation for the upcoming NY shows.

A Special "fashion insider report" by Anne Anable... 8:AM (2PM in Italy) - Ed Philipowski, president of KCD, has his entire staff of 20, (invariably dressed in black) gathered in Milan as they plot strategy for Versace's show, prior to their departure to Paris. 8:30AM - Ruth Finley of the Fashion Calendar checks her messages from designers and their PR firms regarding changes in time and venues of shows. First call of the day is from the Armani people regarding scheduling of the designer's Friday night show in New York. 9:AM - Linda Mann of Deignan/Mann is in the company's "War Room" with her partner Joan Deignan discussing the always politically charged editor and buyer seating plan at the upcoming Bob Mackie Show. 10:AM (4PM in Milan) - Pilar Crespi of Crespi & Mariani Associates, stays on after the Italian shows conclude to confer with Italian clients. Today she meets Angela Missoni to determine which collection pieces ought to be sent to New York for U.S. buyer and editor viewing. |
